Tennis star Iga Świątek reveals toned abs in tiny striped bikini in new vacation photos after Wimbledon loss

Polish tennis superstar Iga Świątek has given fans a glimpse into her post-Wimbledon recovery, sharing a series of sun-soaked vacation photos on Thursday. The 25-year-old, who suffered a stunning defeat at the hands of 29th seed Alex Eala on July 4, appeared relaxed and glowing as she floated on a blow-up lounge in crystal-clear waters, wearing a tiny striped bikini that showcased her famously toned abs.

The image, one of several in an Instagram carousel, showed Świątek with a serene smile, her blonde hair tied back, as she drifted in the turquoise sea. Additional photos featured the champion reading a book on the beach, cuddling a stray kitten near the ocean, and taking a selfie with a friend—her broad smile a testament to her resilient spirit despite the disappointment at Wimbledon.

“This is where your email finds me,” she wrote in the caption, signaling a deliberate break from the intensity of professional tennis. The post quickly drew an outpouring of support from fans around the globe. “Take your time and rest well Iga! Champs never die, see you next month!” one fan wrote. Another added: “We love you Igaaaa, keep going champ.” A third chimed in: “Well-deserved!” while a fourth remarked: “It’s so great you’re taking time to rest and to enjoy life… it makes us happy to see your smiles!”

The defeat came as a shock to the tennis world. Świątek, a six-time Grand Slam singles champion (four at Roland Garros, one at the US Open, and one at the Australian Open), was widely expected to make a deep run at the All England Club. Eala, the talented Filipina left-hander, played the match of her life, striking 41 winners and saving seven of eight break points to secure a 6-3, 6-7(5), 7-5 victory on Centre Court. The match lasted three hours and 11 minutes, with Świątek struggling to find the balance between aggression and consistency that has defined her career.

Świątek’s Career: A Legacy of Dominance

Born in Warsaw in 2001, Iga Świątek turned professional in 2018 and quickly established herself as one of the most formidable players in women’s tennis. Her first major breakthrough came in 2020 when she won the French Open as a teenager, dropping only 28 games in the entire tournament—the fewest since Steffi Graf in 1988. She followed that with titles at the French Open in 2022, 2023, and 2024, the US Open in 2022, and the Australian Open in 2025. Her all-court game, anchored by a devastating topspin forehand and exceptional movement, has drawn comparisons to Rafael Nadal.

Despite her clay court prowess, Świątek has often struggled on grass. Her best Wimbledon result came in 2023, when she reached the semifinals before losing to Elina Svitolina. In 2024, she was ousted in the third round by Yulia Putintseva. This year’s early exit at the hands of Eala—a player ranked No. 36—was especially painful, as Świątek had expressed confidence in her grass court preparation, having played a lead-up tournament in Eastbourne where she reached the quarterfinals.

The Match: A Clash of Styles

Eala, 24, played with remarkable composure throughout the match. Her serve, often a weakness, was clicking at key moments, and her backhand down the line repeatedly caught Świątek off guard. After splitting the first two sets, the third set was a brutal exchange of breaks and holds. At 5-5, Świątek squandered a 30-0 lead on her serve, double-faulting twice to hand Eala the break. The Filipina then served out the match to love, clinching victory with an ace.

In her post-match press conference, Świątek was candid about her shortcomings. “I was there to fight. It wasn’t enough,” she said. “For sure I could play a little bit better. But she also played great. She used her chances. She went for it.” She added: “In the tie-break, I remember when it was tight, I slowed down a bit. She was brave enough to play a bit faster. You need to be brave in Wimbledon to win these points. It was hard for me to balance this speed that I have that made me lose some matches this year because I was playing too fast, with being solid. I didn’t find that good balance today, and I lost. She played better in important moments.”

Life Off the Court: Diet, Discipline, and Indulgence

Świątek’s dedication to fitness and nutrition is well-known. Her svelte physique is a product of rigorous training, including hours of on-court drills, gym work, and cardiovascular conditioning. Yet, she admits to having a guilty pleasure: pasta with strawberries, a classic Polish dish she grew up eating. “I have my favorite, actually,” she said in a TikTok video posted on Wimbledon’s official account. “I ate it as a kid. It’s pasta with strawberries—pasta, strawberries, a little bit of yogurt—it’s just great.”

She also revealed her pre-match meal preferences, steering clear of heavy English fare like fish and chips. “For sure not fish and chips because it’s too heavy,” she said. “But my team has been eating every day like a cheat meal—you know? And I’m just looking at them like: ‘Guys, really, that’s not helpful.’”

The lighthearted comments underscored Świątek’s ability to find joy in everyday moments, even as she prepares for the rigors of the tennis calendar. Her vacation photos, taken five days after the loss, show her embracing that philosophy fully.

What’s Next for Świątek?

After Wimbledon, Świątek is expected to take a short break before returning to practice for the North American hardcourt season. She is scheduled to play the Canadian Open in Montreal in early August, followed by the Cincinnati Masters, and then the US Open in late August. With her ranking still comfortably inside the top 2, she remains a strong contender for the year’s final major. However, the defeat to Eala has raised questions about her mental and tactical preparation for grass, a surface where her game—built on heavy topspin and court coverage—can sometimes feel less effective.

Meanwhile, Eala’s victory has propelled her into the Wimbledon quarterfinals, where she will face second seed Elena Rybakina. The tennis world will be watching to see if the Filipina can continue her Cinderella run.

For now, Iga Świątek is content to recharge by the ocean, letting the warm sun and kind words of her fans restore her spirit. The six-time Grand Slam champion has proven time and again that she can bounce back from disappointment. Her vacation snapshots are not just a glimpse of a celebrity at leisure, but a reminder that even champions need time to heal—and that a little pasta with strawberries, along with a supportive fan base, can go a long way.
