Samsung has launched next-gen monitors including 6K gaming monitor — score free credit or gadget with purchase

Just in time for summer, Samsung is refreshing its monitor portfolio with a range of new models that push the boundaries of resolution, refresh rate, and versatility. From the world’s first 6K gaming monitor to OLED displays with faster response times and a flexible rolling screen for multi-room use, the South Korean tech giant is aiming to set new standards for both gamers and professionals.

Most of the newly announced monitors are now available for purchase directly from Samsung's website and at major retailers. Customers who buy through Samsung's official store can choose between a free Samsung credit (worth up to $300) or a complementary gadget such as the Music Studio 7 smart speaker (valued at $499.99) or a pair of Galaxy Buds4 Pro (valued at $249.99), depending on the model selected.

Odyssey G8 G80HS: The World’s First 6K Gaming Monitor

The standout product in the announcement is the 32-inch Samsung Odyssey G8 G80HS, which claims the title of the first gaming monitor to deliver a native 6K resolution (7680 x 4320 pixels). With a pixel density of 224 PPI, this IPS panel offers exceptional clarity that surpasses conventional 4K and even some 5K displays. The monitor supports a refresh rate of 165Hz at 6K, but gamers can activate Dual Mode to switch to a 3K resolution and achieve up to 330Hz for competitive play.

Connectivity includes DisplayPort 2.1, which provides enough bandwidth for high-resolution and high-refresh-rate signals simultaneously, as well as compatibility with both AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-Sync to eliminate screen tearing and stuttering. HDR performance is enhanced by VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification. Priced at $1,599.99, the monitor comes with a free $300 credit or a Music Studio 7 smart speaker.

Odyssey G8 G80HF: 5K Resolution in a 27-Inch Form

For those who prefer a smaller screen but still demand high resolution, the 27-inch Odyssey G8 G80HF offers a 5K (5120 x 2880) panel with a 218 PPI density and a native 180Hz refresh rate. Dual Mode pushes the refresh rate to 360Hz at a lower resolution. The same DisplayPort 2.1 interface and adaptive sync support are present. Retailing for $949.99, buyers can choose between a $200 credit, a Music Studio 5 speaker, or Galaxy Buds4 Pro.

Both the 6K and 5K models feature an IPS panel with a wide color gamut covering 99% of DCI-P3, making them suitable not only for gaming but also for photo and video editing tasks that demand color accuracy.

OLED Upgrades: Odyssey OLED G7 and G8

Samsung has also refreshed its OLED gaming monitor lineup with two new models: the 32-inch Odyssey OLED G7 (G73SH) and the 27- and 32-inch Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SH). OLED displays are known for their perfect blacks, infinite contrast, and ultra-fast pixel response times.

The Odyssey OLED G7 delivers 4K resolution with a 165Hz refresh rate and a 0.03ms response time, making it one of the fastest gaming monitors on the market. It is priced at $1,099.99 and includes the same free $200 credit or Galaxy Buds4 Pro offer. Samsung's Glare Free technology is not mentioned for this model, but it is a highlight of the G8 variants.

The Odyssey OLED G8 models, available in 27-inch and 32-inch sizes, step up the refresh rate to 240Hz while maintaining 4K resolution. Samsung's Glare Free coating reduces reflections, making these monitors ideal for brightly lit rooms. The 32-inch version also carries VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification, ensuring deep blacks and vibrant highlights. The 27-inch model costs $1,099.99 (with $200 credit or free Buds4 Pro), while the 32-inch retails for $1,299.99 and offers a $300 credit or Music Studio 7.

All OLED models support AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and are G-Sync compatible, ensuring smooth gameplay across a wide range of graphics cards.

ViewFinity S8: Work-Oriented 5K2K Curved Display with Thunderbolt 5

For professionals who require a large, high-resolution workspace, Samsung's ViewFinity line has been upgraded with the 40-inch S85TH model. This curved 5K2K (5120 x 2160) monitor has a 144Hz refresh rate — unusually high for a productivity monitor — which benefits both scrolling through documents and occasional gaming.

The standout feature is the integration of Thunderbolt 5, which delivers up to 80Gbps data transfer speeds and can daisy-chain multiple displays while charging a laptop with up to 140W of power delivery. This makes it a powerful hub for creative workflows such as video editing, 3D rendering, and software development. The monitor retails for $1,399.99 and comes with a free $300 credit or Music Studio 7 smart speaker.

Samsung also mentioned a 27-inch ViewFinity S8 (S80HF) with 5K resolution and USB-C connectivity, but pricing has not yet been announced.

The Movingstyle Essential: A Versatile Portable Display on Wheels

Rounding out the lineup is the Movingstyle Essential, a 43-inch 4K UHD display mounted on a rolling stand. The stand offers adjustable height, tilt, swivel, and pivot, allowing users to reposition the screen easily around the home — from the living room for gaming to the home office for work, or the bedroom for streaming. The display supports HDR10+ and features built-in speakers.

At $899.99, the Movingstyle Essential is the most affordable of the new releases. It comes with a free $200 credit, a Music Studio 5 speaker, or Galaxy Buds4 Pro. This product is aimed at consumers who want a multifunctional screen that can seamlessly transition between different use cases without requiring permanent installation.

Pricing and Availability Summary

All monitors except the 27-inch ViewFinity S8 are available now on Samsung.com and at major retailers. The promotional offers — free credit or gadget — are exclusive to Samsung's online store. The free credits can be used toward future purchases of Samsung accessories, appliances, or other electronics. Gadget options vary by monitor tier: higher-end models like the 6K G8 and 40-inch ViewFinity qualify for the $300 credit or Music Studio 7, while mid-range models offer a $200 credit or Galaxy Buds4 Pro.

The new lineup demonstrates Samsung's commitment to pushing display technology forward, whether through record-breaking resolution in gaming monitors or productivity-enhancing connectivity in professional displays. With these launches, Samsung is strengthening its position against competitors like LG, ASUS, and Dell, particularly in the premium monitor segment.
