The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded a substantial portion of the polling unit results from the Osun State governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal, also known as IReV. The uploads came after voting closed in many areas across the state on Saturday, August 15, 2026, and continued into the night as election officials completed sorting and counting of ballots at various polling units.
The election, held across all 30 local government areas of Osun State, saw residents turn out to choose the next governor of the state. By 11:41 p.m. on the same day, INEC had published more than 3,400 results out of the expected 3,763 polling unit results. This represented 92.53 per cent of the total results required for a full picture of the vote.

INEC uploads results to IReV as collation begins
The commission, led by Prof. Joash Amupitan, began releasing polling unit results on the IReV portal after voting concluded in many parts of Osun. The commission had earlier assured voters that it would ensure transparency in the release of results, and the uploads reflect that commitment.
