BRS Supports SC Classification

Amid ongoing discussions on SC classification in Telangana, the BRS party has clearly expressed its support. In the Assembly, BRS Working President KTR mentioned that their party has always stood in favor of SC classification. He stated that BRS has followed this approach since 2001 and after the formation of Telangana, the party passed a unanimous resolution in the Assembly and sent it to the Centre.

Recalling the classification movement led by Mand Krishna Madiga, KTR highlighted that CM KCR has always supported organizations like MRPS, TMRPS, and other associations fighting for classification. He emphasized that regardless of being in the opposition or in power, BRS has consistently supported this demand. KTR also pointed out that KCR stood by the families of martyrs who fought for SC classification.

BRS criticized the government's stance in the Assembly, which underreported the BC population. The party leaders accused the government of presenting inaccurate data, calling it unjust to show wrong statistics for BCs.

In this controversy, BRS members walked out of the Assembly, protesting the government's failure to provide proper answers and its approach that undermines the rights of BCs. They stressed that issues like BC population and classification need to be handled with sensitivity.

Political parties in Telangana have differences regarding SC classification and BC statistics. Both the ruling and opposition parties are trying to explain their respective standpoints to the public. Further discussions on this issue are expected in the coming days.
